Here we go! Several manic days of preparation. It never seems enough time. Slightly hamstrung by the airlines, we have only been allowed our standard baggage allowance (complicated issue and despite Kate having secured agreement for additional charitable allowance in principle, the two different airlines involved couldn’t seem to communicate and actually put it on the booking). Mainly an issue because of our wish to take out as much medical kit for the hospital as we can. I have been selective about the surgical instruments we are taking, but even those means that we are travelling very light for the family. Some hard choices and it really did come down to the last lego-man!
